I thought it would be appropriate for me to write an article telling you why I wanted to learn to make money online. In short, I wanted to do this for the same reason that you do more than likely. I wanted a recurring, sustainable income that is not dependent on an employer, one certain industry, my health, or my geography.

Over the last two years I have heard some of the same stories from various people all with a common theme; and that is financial uncertainty. Bright, ambitious young adults graduate from college, get a good job with a reputable firm, are praised for their work and are given large raises, only to find out that now, due to the economy, they have had:

• their hours cut back
• their benefits cut back
• their firm taken over or gone out of business
• some combination of the above

All resulting in a downhill slide leading them into  financial uncertainty and stress at a time when they would like to be settling down, getting married and starting a family. Not something you’d normally feel comfortable doing when your income is uncertain.

Who wouldn’t like to think that they could have a diversified income, consisting of multiple streams, that keeps putting money in the bank hour after hour, day after day, week after week, regardless of whether they are working, sick or even on vacation?

That was my reason for wanting to learn to make money online, sound familiar?

The impetus for doing this right now was actually kind of a double whammy I got hit with yesterday. The first was a private message from someone starting out Internet marketing because both she and her husband are unemployed, they ran out of money, then sold their house so that they could live on the proceeds of the house until one of them hopefully found a job.

And while I think this is a good idea for them and certainly very doable, there’s no question they need help getting going.
